Mr. Brace submitted the following order:

Ordered, That it be entered on the Journal that Mr.
Brace, of Allegany county, was absent from his seat yester-
day by reason of the train missing connection.

On motion of Mr. Keech,

Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill entitled an Act to give and declare the sane
tion of the General Assembly of Maryland to the gift, devise,
legacy and bequest of five thousand dollars to the Trustees of
Waugh Chapel, in Baltimore county, Maryland, as contained
and mentioned in the last will and testament of John Ged-
dis, late of Baltimore county, deceased.

On motion of Mr. Weir,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Claims to intro-
duce a bill to refund to John Bell an amount of money erro-
neously paid into the Treasury.

On motion of Mr. Clark,

Leave was granted to the Montgomery delegation to report
a bill to authorize the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Mont-
gomery county to place certain fees in the hands of the Sher-
iffs of the several counties of this State and the City of Balti-
more for collection.

On motion of Mr. Seth,

Leave was granted to Messrs. Seth, Valliant and Dawson,
to introduce a bill to add additional sections to the Code of
Public Local Laws of Talbot county, to be sub-titled
"Oysters."

On motion of Mr. Foster,

Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill to alter and amend the law relating to
"Landlord and Tenant."

On motion of Mr. Koons,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Claims to introduce
a bill to refund to John D. Main, of Frederick county, cer-
tain taxes paid in error.

On motion of Mr. Foster,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Inspections to in-
troduce a bill for the protection of gas consumers in Balti-
more City.
