On motion of Mr. Merritt,

Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
report a bill entitled an Act to repeal so much of the Public
General Laws of section 9, Article 28, of the Code, title
"County Commissioners," relating to the publishing of the
expenses of the counties, so far as the same relates to Kent
county, and to re-enact the same for Kent county as part of
the Public Local Laws, with amendments.

On motion of Mr. Merrill,

Leave was granted to Messrs. Merrill, Pruitt and Leonard
to introduce a hill entitled an Act to authorize the Town
Commissioners of Berlin, in Worcester county, to erect a
guard-house in said town.

On motion of Mr. Keech,

Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill to be entitled an Act to authorize George Lit-
tle and Thomas V. Hunter, surviving trustees of the Wise-
burg Church, in Baltimore county, to sell and convey certain
real estate.

Mr. Watkins, Chairman of the Committee on Ways and
Means, reported unfavorably upon

A bill entitled an Act to provide for the maintainance and
instruction of indigent, idiotic, and feeble-minded children of
the State of Maryland.

And the report was adopted.
Also, reported favorably,

A bill entitled an Act to repeal section 97, of Article 81,
of Public General Laws, entitled " Eevenue and Taxes," and
to re-enact the same with amendments.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Watkins moved that the said bill be read a second
time this day, under the provisions of the Constitution,
Article 3, section 27.
