The bill entitled an Act appropriating a sum of money to
pay for certain buildings erected in connection with the
Washington University, in the City of Baltimore,

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The hour having arrived for taking up the order of the
day,

On motion of Mr. Watkins,

The House proceeded to the consideration of the bill enti-
tled an Act to repeal the Act passed at January session, 1872,
chapter 274, entitled an Act to regulate the taxation of Coal
Mining Companies in this State for State purposes, and to
re-enact the same with amendments, and to add the same to
Article 81, of the Code of Public General Laws of this State.

Said bill being upon a third reading,

Said bill was then read a third time and rejected (for want
of a constitutional majority) by yeas and nays, as follows:
