Mr. Henkle submitted the following amendment:

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Strike out section 9.

The question recurring upon the adoption of the amend-
ment,

It was rejected.

Mr. Henkle submitted the following amendment ;
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Section 9, line 10, strike out the words "the sum so agreed
upon with the Comptroller," and insert the words "the tax."
Which was rejected.

The bill was then read a second time and ordered to be en -
grossed for a third reading.

On motion of Mr. Sudler, (the rules being suspended,)
The House proceeded to the consideration of the Senate bill
entitled an Act to lay out and establish a new election dis-
trict in Somerset county, out of Lawson's District, Number
Eight, and Smith's Island District, Number Seven, to be
called Crisfield District, Number Seven.

Said bill being upon a third reading, said bill was then
read a third time and passed by yeas and nays, as fol-
lows:
