Mr. McCosker submitted the following order :

Ordered, That the night sessions of this House shall be
devoted exclusively to the consideration of bills of a local
character.

Which was read.

Mr. Sudler submitted the following amendment:

Ordered, That the Honse of Delegates meet hereafter at 8
o'clock every evening, except Saturdays, for the consideration
exclusively of local bills, and that immediately upon the
meeting of the House for evening sessions, the counties be
called in their order, and upon such call each county delega-
tion shall designate by number, two local bills, and Balti-
more City, six local bills, which shall be read in order.

Which was read.

The question recurring upon the adoption of the amend-
ment,

It was rejected.

The question then recurring upon the order submitted by
Mr. McCosker,

It was adopted.

Mr. Gordy submitted the following order :

Ordered, That it be entered upon the Journal that Hon.
O. P. Johnson is absent from his seat on account of severe
illness.

Which was adopted.

On motion of Mr. Gi'afton,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Agriculture to in-
troduce a bill to appropriate the sum of one thousand dollars
to the Agricultural Society of Harford county, on conditions
therein named.

On motion of Mr. Turner, of Cecil,

Leave was granted to the Cecil delegation to introduce a
bill to regulate the roads in Cecil county.

On motion of Mr. Merrill,

Leave was granted to the Worcester delegation to introduce
a bill entitled an Act to protect wild fowl in Worcester
county.

On motion of Mr. Keech,

Leave was granted to the Baltimore City delegation to
introduce a bill to prevent horses, mules and bulls from run-
