The petition of Rev. H. G. Bowers, William L. Culler and
twenty-one other citizens of Jefferson District, Frederick
county, in favor of Local Option and Civil Damage Law.

Which were severally read and referred to the Select Com-
mittee on Temperance.

Mr. Gill presented the following memorial:

FEBRUARY 24th, 1874.
To the Honorable,

The Members of the Senate and House of Delegates:

The undersigned, a Committee of the City Council of Bal-
timore, respectfully submit herewith the accompanying pre-
amble and resolutions, adopted by both Branches of the City
Council of Baltimore, expressive of the sense of that Body in
opposition to a reduction of the "Park Tax," now asked for
by the Baltimore City Passenger Railway Company.

The Committee respectfully request the reading of the
preamble and resolutions in both Houses of the General As-
sembly, and such favorable consideration of the same as to
your Honorable Bodies may seem fit; and as in duty bound
&c.

The Speaker laid before the House the petition of W. H.
H. Lusby and other citizens, asking the passage of a Dog
Law.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Agri-
culture.

Mr. Fenton presented the petition of Eugene Shilow and
two hundred other citizens of Baltimore City, against the
use of pond nets in rivers.

Which was read and referred to the Kent and Queen Anne's
delegations.
