454 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Feb. 20,

Mr. Stewart, of Howard, submitted the following amend-
ment :

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Section 2, line 5, at the end of line, add "every dog ex-
cept one," and strike out in line 6, all after the word
"dollars."

Which was rejected.

Mr. Lamar submitted the following amendment:

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Insert the word "or" after the word "families;" strike out
all after the word "premises," in the third section.

Which was rejected.

Mr. Merryman submitted the following amendments :

AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

Section 4, line 6, substitute the word "fifty" in lieu of the
word "twenty-five."

Which was adopted.

Also, the following amendment:

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Section 6, line 4, strike out after the word "taxes," the
word "received."

Which was adopted.

Mr. Seth submitted the following amendments:
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

Section 8, line 4, after the word "hundred," add the
words "and fifty;" and strike out after the word "dogs," in
line 4, all down to the "bitches," in line five, inclusive; at
the end of 6th line, strike out the word "four" and insert
the word "two."

Which were severally read and adopted.
Mr. Merryman submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Section 10, line 8, strike out the word "twenty-five" and
insert the word "fifty."
Which was adopted.

Mr. Turner, of Cecil, submitted the following amend-
ments :

AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

Add the following as an additional section : SEC. 12. And
be it enacted, That Cecil county shall be exempted from the
