Said bill was then sent to the Senate.

The bill entitled an Act to repeal section 82, of Article 20,
of Public Local Laws, relating to Talbot county, sub-title
"Elections," and section 93 of said Article, sub-title "Justi-
ces of the Peace and Constables," and re-enact the same with
amendments,

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to authorize the sale of freight
and baggage by Railroad Companies and common carriers
in certain cases,

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The bill entitled an Act for the protection of sheep in the
State of Maryland,

Being upon a second reading,
Mr. Johnson submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Section 2, line 5, strike out the word "five," and insert
the word "two."

The question recurring upon the amendment submitted by
Mr. Johnson,

It was rejected.

Mr. Seth submitted the following amendments :
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

Section 2, line 5, after the word "dog," insert the words
"male or female;" and in same line, after the words addi-
tional dog," insert the words "male or female;" and in line
6, strike out to the word "year," inclusive ; line 8, after the
word "dog," insert the words "male or female;" line 11,
after the word "dog," insert "male or female."

The amendments proposed were severally read and adopted.
