The Senate bill entitled an Act supplementary to an Act
to incorporate the Worcester Rail Road Company, passed at
January session, 1853, with amendments enacted the 18th
of March, 1867, and to repeal any part of said Act inconsis-
tent with this Act.

Which was read a second time.

Mr. Sudler, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported
without amendment,

The Senate bill entitled an Act to lay out and establish a
new election district in Somerset county, out of Lawson's
District, Number 8, and Smith's Island District, Number 7,
to be called Crisfield District, Number 7.

Which was read a second time.

The bill entitled an Act to establish the Maryland House
of Correction,

Being upon a second reading,

Mr. McCosker submitted the following amendment:

Section 12, line 6, after the word "Trustees," insert the
words: "for the State of Maryland."

Which was adopted.

The bill as amended was then read a second time and or-
dered to be engrossed for a third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to authorize the Mayor and City
Council of Baltimore, to fund the floating debt of the City of
Baltimore, as authorized or existing on the 31st day of Octo-
ber, 1873, to an amount not exceeding two million dollars,

Being upon a second reading,
Mr. Fenton submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Section 1, lines 16 and 17, fill the blank with the words,
"twelfth February."

Which was adopted.

The bill as amended was read a second time and ordered
to be engrossed for a third reading.

On motion of Mr. Watkins,

The House proceeded to the consideration of the bill enti-
tled an Act to authorize the Governor, Comptroller and
Treasurer, to settle the accounts of Charles E. Maguire, late
Weigher of Live Stock, and to compromise with his sureties,
if in their judgment the same is advisable,
