Mr. Merrill presented the petition of E. J. C. Britting-
ham, W. S. Dickinson and sixty other citizens of Worcester
county, asking for protection of fish in Pocomoke River.

Which was read and referred to the Worcester delegation
and Mr. Sudler.

Mr. Merritt presented the memorial of Geo. Rohme,
against pound nets in the waters of Kent county.

Which was read and referred to Messrs. Merritt. Hines and
Seth.

Mr. Cooper presented the petition of St. Vincent's Infant
Asylum for relief.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.

Mr. Robinson presented the petition of citizens of Anne
Aruadel county, for a bridge over Deep Run.

Which was read and referred to the Howard and Anne
Arundel delegations.

Mr. Stewart, of Howard, preesented the petition of sun-
dry citizens of Howard county, asking the passage of a law
requiring the County Commissioners of Howard and Anne
Arundel counties to build a bridge over Deep Run, near
Hanover Switch.

Which was read and referred to the Howard and Anne
Arundel delegations.

Mr. Lancaster submitted the following message:

BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,

February 19th, 1874.
Gentlemen of the Senate:

We respectfully propose, with the concurrence of your
Honorable Body, to appoint a Joint Committee of two of the
Senate and three of the House, to visit and inspect the House
of the Good Shepherd, and the House of the Colored Oblate
Sisters of Baltimore, and the St. Vincent's Orphans' Asy-
lum.

And we name on the part of the House, Messrs. Lancas-
ter, McAleese and McWilliams.
