THURSDAY, February 19th, 18?4.

The house met, and was opened with prayer by the Rev.
Father Oberley.

Present at the call of the roll, the following members:

Messrs. Bond, Colton, Merritt, Henkle, Robinson, Nut-
well, Bird, Turner, of Calvert, Lancaster, Hawkins, Keech,
Buchanan, Matthews, Merryman, Turner, of Baltimore
county, Seth, Valliant, Sudler, Gordy, Johnson, Hodson,
Mackey, Etchison, Latchford, Kemp, Pruitt, Merrill, Miller,
Lamar, Nicodemus, Annan, Lee, Dawson, McCosker, T. H.
Hamilton, Cooper, C. R. Hamilton, McWilliams, Foster,
Staylor, Stewart, of Baltimore city, McAleese, Gill, Hart,
Loane, Greenfield, Harig, Joyce. Groh, Fenton, Berry,
Freaner, Stake, Clark, Watkins, Fletchall, Wack, Park,
Brace, Waters, Vanderford, Galt, Brown, Maclin, Stewart,
of Howard, Leonard, Bedsworth, Glotfelty—70,

Mr. McAleese presented the petition of two thousand six
hundred and fifty-three citizens of Baltimore, opposed to the
passage of a Local Option Law.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.

Mr, Etchison presented the petition of John T. Clements,
and twenty-three other citizens of Piscataway District, Prince
George's county, praying a division of their district, and that
they be thus transferred to Charles county, as citizens thereof.

Which was read and referred to the Prince George's and
Charles delegations.

Mr. Matthews presented the petition of A. S. Crosby,
Thomas R. Hand and others, asking the passage of a Dog
Law.

Which was read and teierred to the Committee on Agri-
culture.

Mr. Brace presented the petition of Joseph Dilley and
twenty-six other property holders of Cumberland, against;
the passage of the Senate City Charter bill.

Also,

The petition of George Henderson, Jr., J. Frank Seiss,
William O. Sprigg, Frederick Minke and sixty other prop-
erty holders of Cumberland, against the passage of the Senate
City Charter bill.

Which were severally read and referred to the Allegany
delegation.
