Mr. Keech submitted the following amendment:

Strike out the word "eight," and insert in lieu thereof the
words "from four to seven, P. M.

Which was adopted.

Mr. McCosker submitted the following amendment:

Add the following : And the sessions shall be devoted to
the consideration of local bills.

Which was adopted.

The question then recurring upon the order as amended,

On motion of Mr. Robey,
The whole subject was laid on the table.

Mr. Lee submitted the following order :

Ordered, That it be entered on the Journal that Mr. Graf-
ton is absent on account of sickness in his family.

Which was adopted.
On motion of Mr. Dawson,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Claims to intro-
duce a bill to pay William Henry Legg for publishing de-
faulter's notice in "Denton Journal."

On motion of Mr. Vanderford,

Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill entitled an Act to cure alleged defects in the
levies of taxes by the Mayor and Common Council of West-
minster, in Carroll county, on the assessable property in
Westminster, for the use of the said city, in and for the
years 1871 and 1872, and to authorize said Mayor and Com-
mon Council to collect all arrears of said taxes for said years.

On motion of Mr. Dawson,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Bank of
Denton, in Denton, Caroline county.
On motion of Mr. Vanderford,

Leave was granted to the Carroll delegation to, introduce
a bill to authorize and empower the County Commissioners
of Carroll county, to pay annually hereafter, to the Mayor
and Common Council of Westminster, a portion of the road
tax annually levied upon the taxable property in Westmin-
ster, by said County Commissioners.

On motion of Mr. Dawson,

Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill to repeal the 56th section of Article 30, of
the Code of Public General Laws, and to re-enact the same
with amendments.
