Mr. Leonard presented the petition of thirty-eight citizens

of Wicomico county, in favor of Local Option and damages
from the sale of intoxicating liquors.

Which was read and referred to the Select Committee on
Temperance.

Mr. Greenfield presented the petition of E. F. Coyner and
others, in favor of a Damage Law.

Which was read and referred to the Select Committee on
Temperance.

Mr. Maclin presented the petition of James B. Matthews

and seventy-five others, of Howard county, for a Local Op-
tion Law.

Which was read and referred to the Select Committee on
Temperance.

Mr. Merrill presented the petition of ninety-nine citizens,
of Worcester county, for a Local Option Law.

Which was read and referred to the Select Committee on
Temperance

Mr. Greenfield presented the petition of the Trustees of the
"Home of the Friendless," for an appropriation of $5,000.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways

and Means.

Mr.Merryman presented the petition of Rachel O. Matthews,
for a pension.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.

Mr. Seth presented the petition of Richard H. Marshall,
A. T. Rice, Charles W. Miller and two hundred seventy-one
other citizens of Frederick city, protesting against the pas-
sage of an Act authorizing the corporation of said city to
subscribe to the stock, or in any way lend its credit to the
Frederick and Pennsylvania Line Rail Road.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on the
Judiciary.

Mr. Waters submitted the following order:

Ordered, That (in consideration of the accumulation of
bills on the Speaker's desk) an evening session be held on
Tuesday and Thursday of each week, and that when this
House adjourns on those days, it stands adjourned until 8
o'clock, P. M., and the evening sessions be spent in finishing

the work on the Speaker's desk.
