TUESDAY, February 17th, 1874.

The House met, and was opened with prayer by the Rer.
Father Oberley.

Present at the call of the roll, the following members:

Messrs. Hines, (Speaker,) Bond, Colton, Merritt, Henkle,
Robinson, Nutwell, Bird, Turner, of Calvert, Lancaster)
Hawkins, Keech, Buchanan, Merryman, Seth, Valliant, Sud-
ler, Coulbourn, Duer, Gordy, Johnson, Hodson, Turner, of
Cecil, Latchford, Robey, Thompson, Kemp, Pruitt, Merrill,
Miller, Lamar, Nicodemus, Annan, Lee, Riley, Dawson,
Williams, McCosker, T. H. Hamilton, Cooper, C. R. Ham-
ilton, McWilliams, Foster, Staylor, Stewart, of Baltimore
city, McAleese, Gill, Hart, Loane, Greenfield, McColgan,
Harig, Joyce, Groh, Fenton, Berry, Freaner, Grimes,
Stake, Clark, Watkins, Fletchall, Wier, Wack, Park, Brace,
Waters, Vanderford, Galt, Brown, Maclin, Stewart, of
Hiward, Leonard, Bedsworth, West, Glotfelty—76.

The Speaker laid before the House the Report of Isaac F.
Vanarsdale, Esq., Clerk to the County Commissioners of
Cecil county, with account for the years 1872 and '73, pre-
sented by Clinton McCullough, Esq., State's Attorney for
said county, in response to an order of the House.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on the
Judiciary.

Mr. Brace moved that the rules be suspended, and that the
House proceed to the consideration of House bills entitled to
a third reading.

Decided in the negative.

Mr. Buchanan presented the petition of Benjamin Arthur
and fifteen other citizens of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd districts
of Baltimore county, asking the passage of a law prohibit-
ing stock from running at large.

Also,

The petition of William H. Harker and other citizens of
the 1st, 2nd and 3rd districts of Baltimore county, asking the
passage of a law prohibiting stock from running at large.

Which was read and referred to the Baltimore county
delegation.

Mr. Annan presented the petition of Hannah Stokes, to be
placed on the pension rolls instead of her husband, lately
deceased.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.
