On motion of Mr. Bird,
Leave was granted to Messrs. Bird, Turner, of Calvert, and
Nutwell, to introduce a bill entitled an Act to repeal sections
1, 3, 5 and 7, of chapter 39, of the Acts of the General As-
sembly of Maryland, passed at January session, 1872, enti-
tled an Act to provide for the repair and improvement of the
public roads in Calvert county, and to re-enact said sections
with amendments.
On motion of Mr. Koons,
Leave was granted to the Frederick delegation to report a
bill to amend the Act entitled an Act to incorporate the
town of Mechanicstown, in Frederick county.
On motion of Mr. Hodson,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Ways and Moans
to report a bill to provide a license tax for all merchants sell-
ing by samples, and to incorporate a provision into the
License Law, requiring all merchants obtaining the ordi-
nary traders' license to declare upon oath, that the stock of
goods from which they expect to sell is located within the
city or county in which the application is made. And when
the stock of goods is not located within the State, that a
license to sell by sample in the City of Baltimore and the
several counties of the State, be granted by the several Clerks
on the payment of one hundred dollars for one year, on
blanks to be furnished by the Comptroller as other license
blanks are furnished.
On motion of Mr. Hart,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill to incorporate the Baltimore and Annapolis
Air Line Kail Road.
On motion of Mr. McColgan,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Library to intro-
duce a bill authorizing and directing the State Librarian to
furnish to the Faculty of Law of the University of Mary-
land, certain law-books from the State Library.
On motion of Mr. Dawson,
Leave was granted to Messrs. Dawson, Williams and
Thompson, to introduce a bill to incorporate the town of
Dentou, in Caroline county.
On motion of Mr. Lamar,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill to add sub-sections to section 167, of Article
30, of the Code of Public General Laws, relating to religious
meetings.
