Which was read and referred to the Washington county
delegation.

Mr. Merritt presented the petition of T. A. Hulme and
others, praying the passage of a law taxing dogs in Kent
county.

Which was read and referred to Messrs. Merritt, Hines
and Thompson.

Mr. Merritt presented the petition of citizens of Kent
county, in opposition to the passage of a law against pound
nets and against splashing.

Which was read and referred to the same Committee.

Mr. Clark presented the petition of B. Rush Roberts, Rich-
ard T. Bentley, A. Gilpin and others, of Montgomery county,
praying the General Assembly of Maryland to change the
death penalty for crime to imprisonment for life.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on the
Judiciary.

Mr. Merritt presented the petition of W. V. Lucas and
other citizens of Kent county, praying for the establishment
of a wholesale market in Baltimore City for the sale of fruits
and vegetables.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Agri-
culture.

Mr. Lee presented the petition of Samuel F. Whistler and
one hundred and four osher citizens of Harford county, ask-
ing the passage of a law making dogs taxable property in
said county.

Which was read and referred to the Harford delegation.

Mr. Koons presented the petition of Thomas A. Smith and
one hundred and thirty-five other citizens of Frederick coun-
ty, protesting against a Local Option Law or any restriction
of the liquor traffic in said county.

Which was read and referred to the Select Committee on
Temperance.

Mr. Johnson presented the petition of James Brown and
fifty-one others, praying for the passage of a Local Option
Law.

Which was read and referred to the Select Committee on
Temperance.

Mr. Dawson presented the petition of J. T. George, C. S.
Kiday, R. J, Jump and three hundred others, in favor of a
Local Option Law.

Which was read and referred to the Select Committee on
Temperance.
