Mr, Brace presented the petition of Hopewell Hebb and
forty-three other residents of Cumberland, protesting against
certain provisions in the new charter for said city, now pend-
ing in the Senate.

Which was read and referred to the Allegany delegation.

Mr. McAleese presented the petition of the detectives of
Baltimore City for increase of compensation.

Which was read and referred to the Baltimore City delega-
tion.

Mr. Freaner presented the petition of Jacob M. Buck,
Geo. W. Thomas and others, of Rohrersville District, in
Washington county, asking protection of wild turkeys.

Which was read and referred to the Washington county

delegation.

Mr. Freaner presented the petition of Dr. E. L. Boteles and
forty-one other citizens of Pleasant Valley, in Washington
county, praying the passage of a law for the protection of
birds in said county.

J. McCauley, H. Lawson, C. Shipley and others, praying
for a dog law for Baltimore county.

Which was read and referred to the Baltimore county del-
egation.

Mr. Freaner presented the petition of Thomas H. Cramp-
ton and sundry other citizens of Pleasant Valley, in Wash-
ington county, in favor of the taxation of dogs, for the benefit
of sheep owners.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Agri-
