Mr. Thompson submitted the following order:

Ordered, That it be entered on the Journal that Mr. Daw-
son, of Caroline, is detained from his place in this House by
urgent business.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Seth submitted the following order:

Ordered, That the Select Committee on Temperance be
increased to nine.

Which was adopted,

And Messrs. Grafton and Pruitt added to said Committee.
On motion of Mr. Clark,.

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to in-
troduce a bill to amend the charter of the Savings Institution
of Sandy Springs, Montgomery county, Maryland.

On motion of Mr. Grafton,

Leave, was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill requiring Justices of the Peace to give bond.

On motion of Mr. Merritt,

Leave was granted to the Kent delegation and Mr. Seth,
to introduce a bill to repeal Article 14, section 114, of the
Code of Public Local Laws, title "Kent County," sub-title
"Justices of the Peace and Constables," and re-enact the same
with an amendment.

On motion of Mr. Grafton,

Leave was granted to the Harford delegation to introduce
a bill authorizing the County Commissioners of Harford
county, in their discretion, to sub-divide election districts of
said county, into two or more voting precincts.

On motion of Mr. Merryman,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to in-
troduce a bill to incorporate the Oakland Cemetery, in Balti-
more county.

On motion of Mr. Brace,

Leave was granted to the Allegany delegation to introduce
a bill to add a new section to Act of the Code of Public Local
Laws, entitled "Allegany County." sub-title "Surveyor."

On motion of Mr. Loane,

Leave was granted to Messrs. Loane, Hart, Fenton, C. R.
Hamilton, and Brace, to introduce a bill to regulate the sale
of reserved seats in Theatres, Concert and Lecture-Rooms,
and other places of amusement.
