Mr. Bird presented the petition of Henry Owings, of S.,
and one hundred and thirty-one others, against removing the
gates from the public roads of Calvert county.

Which was read and referred to Messrs. Bird, Turner, of
Calvert, and Colton.

Mr. Merritt presented the petition of S. H. Blackiston and
others, praying a change in the game laws of this State.

Which was read and referred to Messrs. Merritt, Hines
and Seth.

Also,

The petition of Abel J. Reese and other citizens of Kent
county, praying a tax on dogs.

Which was read and referred to the same Committee.

Mr. Waters presented the petition of Wm. H. Vander-
ford, praying compensation for publishing list of defaulters
to the State.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Claims.

Mr. Turner, of Cecil, presented the petition of Thomas Gill
lespie and Wm. E. Gillespie and twenty-seven others of Ceci-
county, praying an amendment to the present dog law of
said county.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Agri-
culture.

Mr Preaner presented the petition of sixty-one citizens of
Funkstown District, Washington county, praying the pas-
sage of a law to prevent fishing in Antietam Creek, except
with dip-nets or rod and line.

Which was read and referred to the Washington county
delegation.

Mr. Duer presented the petition of A. C. Heaton and sev-
enty-eight other white voters of the first election district of
Somerset county, praying for Local Option and Damage Laws
for said county.

Which was read and referred to the Select Committee on
Temperance.

Mr. Grafton presented the petition of Henry A. Silver, for
compensation for services as State Librarian.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Claims.

Mr. Latchford presented the petition of Wm. B. Hill and
fifty-eight other citizens of Prince George's county, asking
for a dog law and the better protection of sheep.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ag-
riculture.
