and the Pennsylvania State line.

On motion of Mr. Vanderford,

Leave was granted to the Carroll delegation to report a
bill to amend the charter of Westminster, Carroll county.

On motion of Mr. Greenfield,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Ways and Means
to introduce a bill entitled an Act to repeal the 41st, 42d and
43d sections of the 56th Article of the Code of Public General
Laws, relating to licenses, and to re-enact the same with
amendments, and to add additional sections to said Ar-
ticle.

On motion of Mr. Seth,

Leave was granted to the Kent delegation to introduce a
bill to add an additional Justice of the Peace in the Fourth
Election District of Kent county,

On motion of Mr. Johnson,

Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill to amend section 9, of Article 53 of the
Code of Public General Laws, under head of "Landlord
and Tenant."

On motion of Mr. Seth,

Leave was granted to Messrs. Seth, Hines and Merritt, to
introduce a bill to repeal chapter 434, of the Act of 1870, so
far as the same relates to Kent coutny.

Also,

Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill to compensate George E. Haddaway, a Jus-
tice of the Peace for Talbot county, for services rendered the
State.

Mr. Loane, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported
favorably,

A bill entitled an Act to authorize the Governor, Comp-
troller and Treasurer to settle the accounts of Charles E.
Maguire, late weigher of Live Stock, and to compromise
with his securities, if in their judgment the same is de-
sirable.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Wier, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported
favorably,

A bill entitled an Act to repeal so much of the Act passed
at the January session, 1870, chapter 434, entitled an Act to
extend the jurisdiction of Justices of the Peace, in and for
