Which was read and referred to the Committee on the
Judiciary.

Mr. Bird submitted the following order:

Ordered, That the Hall-Keeper is hereby instructed to
prohibit any person or persons from defacing the columns,
doors or walls of the rotunda with placards, posters, notices,
&c., &c., and that he is hereby requested to procure a bulle-
tin-board for such purposes.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Wier submitted the following order :

Ordered, That C. B. Wack be excused from attendance on
account of sickness in his family.
Which was adopted.
Mr. Nicodemus submitted the following order:

Ordered, That it be entered on the Journal of this House,
that Mr. Miller, of Frederick county, is unavoidably absent
from his seat to-day.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Glotfelty submitted the following order :

Ordered, That it be recorded on the Journal of the House,
that Mr. Williams, of Caroline, was absent last week on
account of sickness.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Gill submitted the following order :

Ordered, That a Committee of three be appointed by the
Speaker, to ascertain whether there is not some practical
mode by which the House can be properly ventilated.

Which was adopted.

And Messrs. Gill, Loane and Annan constituted said Com-
mittee.

On motion of Mr. Lancaster,

Leave was granted to Messrs. Lancaster, Hawkins and
Colton, to introduce a bill to repeal Article 9, section 98, of
Public Local Laws for Charles county, entitled "Roads," and
re-enact the same with amendments.

On motion of Mr. Glotfelty,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Ways and Means
to introduce a bill authorizing an appropriation from the
