Mr. Merrynian presented the petition of Lemuel H. Gar-
rett, for a State pension.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.

Mr. Brace presented the petition of Charles Cavenaugh and
thirty-three other residents of Allegany county, protesting
against the passage of a law prohibiting the running of'deer
with dogs in said county.

Which was read and referred to the Allegany delegation.

Mr. Seth presented the petition of Thomas K. Eohson, ed-
itor and publisher of the "Easton Star," for compensation
for publishing list of defaulters as per order of Col. Levin
Woolford, Comptroller.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Claims.

Mr. Fenton presented the petition of John S. Edwards,
Elisha Heath and others, praying the removal of the cattle-
yards to a more suitable location.

Which was read and referred to the Select Committee on
that subject.

Mr. Riley presented the petition of Joshua Husband, Hen-
ry Gorrell, Thos. Symington and two hundred and seventy
other citizens of Harford, praying for the passage of a gen-
eral law offering a reward of fifty cents for the head of each
chicken hawk killed in this State.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Agri-
culture.

Mr. McCosker presented the petition of one hundred and
four machinists, boiler-makers and steam users, for the re-
peal of section 15, of chapter 153, of the Act of 1872, entitled
an Act to provide for the inspection of steam-boilers in the
City of Baltimore.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Inspec-
tions.

Mr. Seth presented the petition of H. C. Gibson and twen-
ty-five other citizens of Talbot county, opposing the passage
of a free dredge or scrape law.

Which svas read and referred to the Committee on the
Chesapeake Bay and its Tributaries.

Mr. Stewart, of Howard, presented the petition of sundry
citizens of Howard county, asking an additional Justice of the
Peace in the sixth district of said county.

Which was read and referred to the Howard delegation.
