sions.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Hawltins submitted the following order:

Ordered, That Mr. Robey be excused from attendance to-
day on account of urgent business.

Which, was adopted.

Mr. Loane submitted the following order:

Ordered, That the Committee on Public Buildings be au-
thorized to employ an architect to make plans and specifica-
tions for the improvements at the Comptroller's office, and
furnish an estimate of the cost of the same.

Which was adopted.
Mr, Freaner submitted the following order:

Ordered, That the Speaker of the House have leave of ab-
sence on Thursday, his presence being required in one of the
Courts in Baltimore City.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Hodson submitted the following order :

Ordered, That Hon. J. J. M. Gordy be, and is hereby,
granted leave of absence for one week from this date.

Which was adopted.

On motion of Mr. Freaner,

Leave was granted to Messrs. Freaner, Brace and West, to
introduce a bill repealing section 54, 55, 56 and 57 of Article
21 of the Public Local Laws, relating to Washington county,
and to re-enact the same with amendments.

On motion of Mr. Park,

Leave was granted to the Allegany delegation to introduce
a bill entitled an Act for the better ventilation of mines, for
the protection of the health and lives of miners, and for the
inspection of mining weigh scales, incline wheels, and wire
ropes, in Allegany county.

On motion of Mr. Grafton,

Leave was granted to the Harford and Baltimore county
delegations to introduce a bill empowering the Commissioners
of Baltimore and Harford counties jointly, to build a bridge
over the Little Gunpowder Falls, near Stritetrof's Mills.

On motion of Mr. Brown,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
