Mr. Merritt presented the petition of Hon. J. A. Wickes and
others, praying the passage of a law taxing dogs in Kent
county.

Which was read and referred to Messrs. Hines, Merritt and
Thompson.

Mr. Merritt presented the petition of S. V. Farson, John
Hall, A. H. Rockwell and John Bordly, hotel keepers, liquor
dealers, and citizens of Kent county, Maryland, to prevent
the sale of adulterated liquor, and asking for the appoint-
ment of Liquor Inspectors.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Inspec-
tions.

Mr. Nicodemus presented the petition of Wm. M. Fraza,
of Frederick county, asking to have twenty-five dollars re-
funded to him, which was improperly paid by him when col-
lector of taxes for said county.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Claims.

Mr. Glotfelty presented the petition of citizens of Garrett
county, asking for a prohibitory liquor law.

Which was read and referred to the Select Committee on
Temperance.

Mr. Groome presented the petition pf Richard L. Thomas,
N. B. Morrison and twenty-six others, of Cecil county, pray- .
ing for a modification of the License Laws, in regard to the
sale of intoxicating liquors.

Which was read and referred to the Select Committee on
that subject.

Mr. Merritt presented the petition of fifty citizens of Kent
county, praying for the passage of a law taxing dogs in said
county.

Which, was read and referred to Messrs. Merritt, Hines
and Thompson.

Mr. Colton presented the petition of Jerome McWilliams
and one hundred other citizens of St. Mary's county, praying
that the present oyster law may be so altered as to make it
unlawful for any one to catch oysters in the waters of any
county other than the one whereof he is a citizen.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on the
Chesapeake Bay and its Tributaries.

Mr. Clark submitted the following order:

Ordered, That the Comptroller of the Treasury be request-
ed to furnish this House with the list of names of persons in
