Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Judicial Proceedings.

Also,

The House bill entitled "An Act to extend the charter of
incorporation of the Baltimore and Philadelphia Steamboat
Company."

Which was read the fist time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Corporations.

The House bill entitled "An Act to authorize and empower
the Agricultural and Mechanical Society of Allegany county,
and West Virginia and Pennsylvania, to issue coupon bonds
to the amount of twenty thousand dollars and to recover the
payment thereof by executing a deed of trust on all its prop-
erty."

Which was read the first time and referred to Messrs. Mc-
Culloh, Lloyd and Walsh.

Mr. Brattan, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
reported favorably

The House bill entitled "An Act to provide for the defence
of Officers' of Registration, Judges of Election, and others
who are or may be indicted in the United States Court for
acts done in the performance of duties imposed, or in the ex-
ercise of rights secured under the Constitution and Laws of
this State, which acts are alleged to be in violation of the Act
of Congress, approved May 31st, 1870."

Which was read the second time.

Mr. Brattan moved a call of the Senate.

When the following Senators responded:

Messrs. President, Blake, Brattan, Crawford, Davis, Den-
son, Fields, Getty, McCulloh, Stevens, Steiner, Spencer,
Tuck—13.

The Sergeant-at-Arms was sent to notify absent Senators
that their presence was requested in the Senate Chamber.

Having returned,

On motion by Mr. Davis,
Further proceedings under the call were suspended.

Mr. Davis, from a Select Committee, to which had been
recommitted

The Senate bill entitled "Au Act to legalize the organiza-
tion of the Parkton and Manchester Rail Road Company,"
