James T. Earle is absent from his seat in the Senate, on ac-
count of sickness.

Mr. Blake presented the petitions of Maria Krebs, widow of
George Krebs, 73 years of age; Rebecca McMackon, widow
of Alexander McMackon, 70 years of age; Mary Bainer, wid-
ow of William Bainer, 94 years of age, asking to be placed
on the pension rolls.

Which were read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.

Mr. Denson presented the petitions of Mary C. Forrester,
widow of Leonard Forrester, 65 years of age; Mary A. Wil-
liams, widow of John Williams, 40 years of age; Elizabeth
K. Armour, widow of William Armour, 60 years of age.

Which were read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.

On motion by Mr. Blake,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judic.ial Proceed-
ings, to report a bill to amend and add to Article III. of the
Public General Laws, entitled "Agents and Factors."

On motion by Mr. Steiner,

Leave was granted to Messrs. Steiner, Brattan and Tuck,
to report a bill entitled "An Act authorizing the County
Commissioners of Frederick county to allow a discount upon
county tax."

On motion by Mr. Tuck,

Leave was granted to Messrs. Tuck, Suit and Fields, to
introduce a bill entitled "An Act to repeal sections 51 and
52, Public Local Laws" entitled "Prince George's county,"
under head of " Collectors."

The Clerk of the House of Delegates appeared and returned

The bill entttled "An Act to authorize the Governor to ap-
point an assistant to the Secretary of State."

Endorsed "Passed by yeas and nays."
Also,

The House bill entitled "An Act to confirm the devise and
bequest of Benjamin Parsons, late of Wicomico county, de-
ceased, to the Vestry of Spring Hill Parish, for certain uses
and purposes therein named."
