Mr. Brattan presented the petition of John T. Ward and
one hundred and forty-six other citizens of Lawson's District
in Somerset county, praying for a Fence law.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Judicial
Proceedings.

Mr. McCulloh, from a Select Committee, reported favora-
bly

The House bill entitled "An Act to repeal section 199 of
Article I. of the Public Local Laws," entitled "Allegany
county," sub-title "Birds."

Which was read the second time.

Mr. McCulloh, from a Select Committee, reported favora-
bly

The Senate bill entitled ''An Act supplementary to an Act
to provide for the new jail in Allegany county.

Which was read the first time.

On motion by Mr. Walsh,
The Senate adjourned.

MONDAY, February 2d. 1814.
The Senate met at 12 o'clock, M.
Prayer by Rev. W. H. D. Harper.
Present the following Senators :

Messrs. President, Blake, Billingsley, Brattan, Crawford,
Davis, Denson, Fields, Getty, McCulloh, Stevens, Steiner,
Spencer, Tuck—14.

The proceedings of Friday were read and approved.

On motion by Mr. Davis, it was

Ordered, That it be entered on the Journal, that the Hon.
