Mr. Stewart, of Howard, Chairman of a Select Committee,
reported favorably,

A bill entitled an Act for the protection of black bass, and
all other fish in the Patapsco River, above tidewater.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Leonard, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported
favorably,

A bill entitled an Act to authorize the County Commis-
sioners of Wicomico county to borrow money on the credit of
the county, for the purpose of purchasing a site on which to
erect a court house and jail, to issue bonds for the payment of
the same, and to levy taxes on the assessable property of the
the county to redeem said bonds, and to pay the interest
thereon.

Which was read a first time, and,

On motion of Mr. Leonard,
Referred to the Committee on the Judiciary.

The Senate bill entitled an Act to authorize the Mayor and
Council of Hagerstown to borrow the sum of five thousand
dollars, to pay a judgment of Nathaniel Sehner, and a judg-
ment of J. G. Gruber, recovered against them, to issue bonds
for the payment of the same, and to levy taxes on the assess-
able property of Hagerstown, to redeem said bonds, and to
pay the interest thereon,

Being upon a second reading,

The amendment proposed by the Select Committee on 27th
instant,

Was then adopted, and the bill as amended read a second
time.

The hour having arrived for taking up the order of: the
day, the House proceeded to the consideration of

The bill entitled an Act to repeal the 67th section of Arti-
cle 30, of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled "Crimes
and Punishments," and to re-enact the same with amend-
ments,

The question recurring upon the amendment proposed on
27th instant,

Pending which,

On motion of Mr. Johnson,

The further consideration thereof was postponed, and the
bill recommitted to the Select Committee reporting the same.
