On motion of Mr. Turner, of Calvert,

Ordered, That it be entered upon the Journal that Mr.
Bird, of Calvert, was unavoidably absent on Tuesday.

Mr. Freaner submitted the following order :

Ordered, That the Select Committee on the establishment
of a State House of Correction, have leave to sit to-day during
the session of the House.

Which was adopted.

Mr. G. E. Hamilton submitted the following order:

Ordered, That Richard Gardner, late Keeper of Committee
Rooms, be allowed twelve days per diem for services rendered
since the organization of the House.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Vanderford submitted the following order :

Ordered, That the Committee on Ways and Means be in-
structed to inquire whether there are any names upon the
list of delinquents, as lately published by the Comptroller of
the Treasury, which ought to be erased therefrom, or whether
there are any claims due by said parties which cannot be
collected.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Miller submitted the following order :

Ordered, That it be entered on the Journal of this House,
that Mr. Annan was absent on yesterday because of failure
to make connection with the train for Annapolis.

Which was adopted.

On motion of Mr. McCosker,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to in-
troduce a bill to incorporate the German Bank of Baltimore,

On motion of Mr. Sudler,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Ways and Means
to introduce a bill to aid Fairmount Academy in Somerset
county.
