Mr, Blake presented the petitions of John J. Daneker, Na-
thaniel Watts and Noah Cullisony asking for a pension.

Which were read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.

On motion by Mr. Blake,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance to intro-
duce a bill for the relief of the Southern Dispensary of Bal-
timore city.

The Clerk of the House of Delegates appeared and deliver-
ed the following message:

BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,

January 29th, 1874.
Gentlemen of the Senate:

We respectfully propose, with the concurrence of your
Honorable Body, the appointment of a Joint Select Commit-
tee, to consist of three on the part of the House and two on
the part of the Senate, for the purpose of taking into consid-
eration an amount to be subscribed by the State of Maryland
towards the Centennial Anniversary, 1876.

We have named on the part of the House Messrs. Latch-
ford, Greenfield and Keech.
