The petition of Joseph Everitt, for a pension.

Which were severally read and referred to the Committee
on Pensions.

Mr. Koona presented the petition of T. G. Maynard,
Henry Baker, T. W. Simpson and others, praying that
Lorenzo Penn, a citizen of Frederick county, deprived of the

elective franchise, be restored to the same.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on the
Judiciary.

Mr. Fenton submitted the following message :

BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,

January 22d, 1874.
Gentlemen of the Senate :

We propose, with your concurrence, to increase the Joint
Committee to visit the Deaf and Dumb Institute at Frede-
rick, one on the part of the Senate, and two on the part

of the House; and we have appointed as said additional mem-
'bers on the part of the House, Messrs. Merryman and
Bird.

MILTON Y. KIDD,

Chief Clerk.

Which was read, assented to, and sent to the Senate.
Mr, Kemp submitted the following order:

Ordered, That the State Librarian furnish a good map of
the State of Maryland, for the use of the Committee on the
Chesapeake Bay and its Tributaries.

Which was adopted.

The Secretary of the Senate delivered the following mes-
sage:

BY THE SENATE,

January 20th, 1874.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates :

We have received your message proposing the appointment
of a Committee, consisting of two from the Senate and three
from the House, to visit the Institution for the Instruction
of the Deaf and Dumb, at Frederick, and concur therein.
