the laws of this State, to transact business therein, and to
re-enact the same with amendments, and to add the same to
Article 56 of the Code of Public General Laws of this
State.

The undersigned has also in course of preparation, and
will submit at an early day, a bill to amend Article 56, of
the Code of Public General Laws, entitled "Licenses," by
adding sections providing for the issuing of licenses to trad-
ers to sell by sample in this State; and a bill to provide
for the assessment and collection of the State taxes on the
shares of the capital stock of National Banks in this State
omitted in former assessments.

The Speaker laid before the House,

The Report of the Commissioners of the Harbor and River
Relief Board, of Baltimore, as to the workings of the Ice-
Boat "Maryland."

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.

Mr. Hart presented the petition of Sarah A. Yundt,
widow of Leonard, 73 years of age, for pension.

Also,

The petition of Margaret Baurn, widow of Samuel, 84.
years of age, for pension.

Also,

The petition of Pleasant Bartholow, widow of Jeremiah,
77 years of age, for pension.

Which were severally read and referred to the Committee-
on Pensions.

Mr. Merryman presented the petition of Catharine Conn,
widow of Daniel Conn, for a pension.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.

Mr. Seth presented the petition of Edward T. Harrison,
and seventy-five other residents of Talbot county, asking
for tke creation of a new election district in said county.

Which was read and referred to Messrs. Seth, Valliant
and Dawson.

Mr. Greenfield presented the petition of Eve Parker, widow
of Edward Parker, for a pension.
