the performance of duties imposed, or in the exercise of
rights secured, under the Constitution and Laws of this
State, which acts are alleged to be in violation of the Act ot
Congress, approved May 31st, 1870, entitled " An Act to en-
force the rights of citizens of the United States to vote in the
several States of this Union, and for other purposes."

Mr. Brace, from the Committee on the Judiciary, sub-
mitted the following minority

REPORT.

The undersigned, a minority of the Committee on the Ju-
diciary, to whom was referred the bill entitled " An Act to
provide for the defense of Officers of Registration, Judges of
Election, and others, who are, or may be indicted in the
United States Court, for acts done in the performance of du-
ties imposed, or in the exercise of rights secured under the
Constitution and Laws of this State, which acts are alleged
to be in. violation of the Act of Congress approved May 31st,
1870, &c." does not concur in the report of the majority of
said Committee.

Mr. Brace, Chairman of a Seleci Committee, reported
favorably,

A bill entitled an Act to authorize and empower the
Agricultural and Mechanical Society of Allegany county and
West Virginia and Pennsylvania, to issue coupon bonds to
the amount of twenty thousand dollars, and to secure the
payment thereof by executing a deed of trust on all its prop-
erty.

Which was read a first time.

Mr, Gordy, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported
favorably, a bill entitled an Act to repeal the 67th section of
Article 30, of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled
"Crimes and Punishments," and to re-enact the same with
amendments.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Brace, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported
favorably, a bill entitled an Act to repeal section 199, Article
1, of Public Local Laws, entitled "Allegany County," sub-
title, "Birds."

Which was read a first time.
