The Speaker announced the following additional members
on Standing Committees, under the Report of the Committee
on Rules:

Committee on Education.—Messrs. Mackey and Wier.

Committee on the Chesapeake Bay and its Tributaries,—
Messrs. Lee, Seth, Merrill and Lancaster.

Also,

The following Select Committee, to consider so much of the
Governor's Message as refers to the State Board of Health:

Committee on State Board of Health.—Messrs. Henkle,
Grimes, Waters, Riley, Turner, of Cecil, Bird and Glotfelty.

Mr. Koons presented the petition of John A. Lynch, S. S.
Cockey, Thos. Gorsuch, A. Fearhake, Jr., and twelve hun-
dred other citizens and tax-payers of Frederick county, pray-
ing the passage of an Act authorizing, directing and requiring
the County Commissioners of said county to levy a sum of
money to build a new jail house, and for other purposes.

Which was read and referred to the Frederick county dele-
gation.

Mr. Koons presented the petition of J. W. Downey, Joseph
Wood and fifty eight others, praying some relief from the
erroneous charges for freight and transportation on the Balti-
more and Ohio Railroad.

'Which was read and referred to the Committee on Corpo-
rations.

Mr. Keech presented the petition of James Brommel and
thirty others, to the General Assembly of Maryland, praying
for the repeal of a certain Local Law prohibiting the Clerk
of the Circuit Court for Baltimore county from issuing a li-
cense to sell liquors within one mile of the village of Calver-
ton, in Baltimore county.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.

On motion of Mr. Koons,

The House (by unanimous consent) proceeded to the con-
sideration of the memorial of H. N. Lansdale and others, ot
Frederick county, praying relief from unjust discriminations
in freight and transportation on the Baltimore and Ohio Rail
Road.
