Mr. Stewart moved that the usual number of copies of the
Report of the School Board be printed for the use of this
House.

Mr. Fowler moved that twenty-five hundred copies be
printed.

Mr. Fenton submitted the following amendment:

That two thousand copies of the report in English, and one
thousand copies in German, be printed.

Pending the consideration of which,

Mr. Gill moved that the whole subject be referred to the
Committee on Education.

Which was sustained, and the subject so referred.

The Speaker laid before the House the following communi-
cation of the Commissioners of the Board of Police of Balti-
more City.

OFFICE BOARD OF POLICE COMMISSIONERS,

Baltimore, January 15th, 1874.
To the Honorable, the Speaker

of the House of Delegates of the

General Assembly of Maryland:

SIR:—The undersigned, the President of the Board of Po-
lice Commissioners of the City of Baltimore, herewith sub-
mits, in accordance with section 816, of Article 4, of the
Public Local Laws, applicable to the City of Baltimore, for
the consideration of your Honorable Body, the Report of the
said Board of Police Commissioners for the years 2872 and
1873.

It is respectfully requested that you submit it, in due order,
for the action of your Honorable Body.

Your obedient servant,

President of the Board of Police

Commissioners of the City of Baltimore.

Together with the report named therein.

Which were severally read and referred to the Committee
on the Judiciary.
