On motion of Mr. Duer,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Agriculture to in-
troduce a bill to repeal section 13, Article 98, of the Code of
Public General Laws, entitled "Wild Fowl," and re-enact
the same with, amendments.
On motion of Mr. Colton,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Pensions to intro-
duce a bill entitled an Act to, authorize the Comptroller to
audit and settle the claims for pension of Elizabeth E. Shanks
and Margaret W. Cullember, of St. Mary's county.
On motion of Mr. Johnson,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Claims to intro-
duce a bill to indemnify Asbury McNamara, for loss and
damage sustained by the Oyster Police steamer in the year
eighteen hundred and sixty-nine.
On motion of Mr. Pruitt,
Leave was granted to the Worcester delegation and Mr. Sud-
ler, of Somerset, to introduce a bill to add a new Article to the
Code of Public Local Laws for Worcester county, empower-
ing a majority of the qualified voters to prohibit the sale of
intoxicating liquors within the limits of Somerset county, to
&c entitled "Sales of Spirituous Liquors."
On motion of Mr. Berry,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Ways and Means to
report a bill to exempt from taxation the bequests of Otho
Williams, late of Washington county, deceased, to the Pres-
byterian Church of Williamsport, Md., and the poor of that
place.
On motion of Mr. Lamar,
Leave was granted to the Frederick county delegation to
introduce a bill to repeal, amend and re enact sections second
and third, chapter 303, of the Acts of 1872, as far as relates
to Frederick county.
The Hon. Richard C. Hollyday, Secretary of State, deliv-
ered the following message from his Excellency the Gover-
nor, together with accompanying documents:
