Clark, Watkins, Fletchall, Wier, Wack, Park, Brace, Wa-
ters, Vanderford, Gait, Brown, Maclin, Stewart, of Howard,
Leonard, Bedsworth, West—78.

Mr. Berry presented the petition of David Oswald and'
others, citizens of Washington county, praying the passage of
a law, submitting to the votors of the several wards of the City
of Baltimore, and of the several election districts of the coun-
ties of the State, to decide whether or no intoxicating liquors
shall be sold in said wards or election districts respectively.

Also,

A petition for the passage of a law making the seller of
intoxicating liquors, or the renter of premises to be used for
the purposes of such sales, responsible for injuries resulting
therefrom, on or about said premises.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on. Ways
and Means.

Mr. Brace presented the petition of A. J. Hershberger and
forty-nine others, for a new election district in Allegany
county.

Which was read and referred to the Allegany county del-
egation.

Mr. Nicodemus presented the petition of D. P. Jacobs
and 100 others, citizens of Frederick county, for an altera-
tion or amendment of the present Fence Law, such as will
require all land-owners to keep sufficient outside fences as to
turn all kinds of stock, or pass such laws as to prohibit any
damage arising from stock breaking through bad fences.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on the
Judiciary.

Mr. Clark presented the petition of Samuel D. Warters,
M. L. Richardson and others, praying that a pension be
granted Keturah B. Burton, the widow of Isaac Burton, Sr.,
a soldier in the war of 1812.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.

Mr. Robinson presented the petition of L, D. Guilford for
a reassessment of property.

Which was lead, and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.

Mr. West presented the petition of E. O. Tilson, R. J.
Heald, P. M. Stemple and twenty-one other citizens, praying
for an Act of Incorporation for the town of Deer Park, in Gar-
rett county.
