Which was read and referred to the Allegany delega-
tion.

Mr. Nutwell submitted the following order;

Ordered, That it be entered upon the Journal that Messrs.
Etchison and Robey, of Prince George's, and Messrs. Hawkins
and Lancaster, of Charles, were absent yesterday on account
of the cars failing to make the proper connection.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Waters submitted the following order:

Ordered, That a Committee of five be appointed by the
Speaker of this House, whose duty it shall be to proceed to
Baltimore and inquire into the affairs of the State Tobacco
Warehouses, and that said Committee have power to send
for persons and papers.

Which was rejected.

Mr. Seth submitted the following order:

Ordered, That the Speaker appoint a Committee of three
members to inquire into the expediency of arranging a suit-
able room as a coat-room, for the accommodation of mem-
bers.

Which was adopted, and Messrs Seth, Fowler and Loane
constituted said committee.

Mr. Keech submitted the following order:

Ordered, That it be entered upon the Journal of this House,
that Mr. Matthews, of Baltimore county, was prevented from
taking his seat in this House yesterday by important and
pressing business.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Staylov submitted the following order:

Ordered, That all Committees, whether traveling or other-
wise, that have been appointed or may hereafter be appoint-
ed by this House, shall pot receive any extra compensation
for their services, unless for necessary expenses incurred, the
amount of said expenses to be handed in with their Report.

Which was adopted.
On motion of Mr. Maclin,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill to incorporate a Company to construct a turn-
pike road from West Friendship to Linden, in Howard coun-
ty, to be known and called the West Friendship and Linden
Turnpike.
