Annapolis, January 13, 1874.

Gentlemen of the Senate of Maryland :

1 herewith transmit to you a list of Executive appoint-
ments made during the recess of the Legislature for Wicomico
county.

1872.

April 30.—James White, Officer of Registration 9th district,
vice W. S. Parsons, declined.

May 23.—Levin B. Price, Justice of the Peace 7th district,
vice Jesse Huffington, resigned.

May 27.—Jonathan J. Fooks, Justice of the Peace 4th dis-
trict, vice Charles W. Dennis, declined.

July 1.—James H. Russells, Justice of the Peace 8th dis-
trict, vice Daniel J. Hatton, declined.

July 1.—William J. Causey, Justice of the Peace 8th dis-
trict, vice Benj. Livingston, declined.

July 1.—George Catlin, Justice of the Peace 3rd district,
vice himself, failed to qualify.

July 1.—Levy D. Gordy, Justice of the Peace 4th district,
vice himself, failed to qualify.

July 1.—Clement C. Wright, Justice of the Peace 1st dis-
trict, vice himself, failed to qualify.

July 1. George A. Hopkins, Officer of Registration 3rd
district, vice Robert G. Mitchel, declined.

July 1. — Stansbury W. Smith, Officer of Registration 5th
district, vice Thomas B. Robertson, declined.

July 1. Thomas O. Morris, Officer of Registration 8th dis-
trict, vice Morrell Sooks, declined.

July 1, J. Wesly Turpiu, Officer of Registration 2nd dis-
trict, vice himself, failed to qualify.

July 1. Henry West, Officer of Registration 4th district,
vice himself, failed to qualify.

July 1, Henry J. Bremington, Coroner, vice himself,
