Dec. 9. James W. Morgan, Justice of the Peace Kith
district, vice Aaron Poffenberger, deceased.

On motion by Mr. Steiner,

The aforegoing appointments were referred to the Commit-
tee on Executive Nominations.

STATE OF MARYLAND,
EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT,

Annapolis, January 13, 1874.
Gentlemen of the Senate of Maryland :

I herewith transmit to you a list of the Executive appoint-
ments made during the recess of the Legislature for Wor-
cester county.

1872.

May 23.—John Corbin, Justice of the Peace 1st district,
vice himself, failed to qualify.

June 11.—Benj. T. Parsons, Justice of the Peace 5th dis-
trict, vice himself, failed to qualify.

June 11.—William W. Melvin, Officer of Registration 1st
district, vice himself, failed to qualify.

1873.

June 18.—John L. Horsey, Officer of Registration 1st dis-
trict, vice W. W. Melvin, resigned.

Sept. 15.—Robert Pitts, Officer of Registration 4th district,
vice Whittington Jones, resigned.

WM. PINKNEY WHYTE.

On motion by Mr. Aydelott,

The Senate advised and consented to the aforegoing ap-
pointments agreeably to the nominations.
