Said bill was then returned to the House of Delegates.

The President announced the order of the day, being

The House bill entitled an Act to provide for the general
valuation and assessment of property, in this State.

Mr. Longwell moved to indefinitely postpone the further
consideration of the bill.

Which was rejected.

The following amendments to the pending bill were sub-
mitted :

AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

Page 2, section 2, at the end of section, add, "except the
counties of Baltimore and Anne Arundel, which shall be di-
vided as follows : Baltimore county shall be divided into seven
assessment districts, vs. the the first and thirteenth election
districts, shall constitute the first assessment district.

"The second and fourth election districts shall constitute
the second assessment district.

"The third election district shall constitute the the third
assessment district.

"The fifth, sixth and seventh election districts shall con-
stitute the fourth assessment district.

"The eighth and tenth election districts shall constitute
the fifth assessment district.

"The ninth election district shall constitute the sixth as-
sessment district; and—

"The eleventh and twelfth election districts shall consti-
tute the seventh assessment district.

"And the county of Anne Arundel shall be divided into
