A Supplement to an act entitled, an act for founding a Col-
lege near Emmitsburg, in Frederick county, passed at De-
cember session, eighteen hundred and twenty-nine, chap-
ter one hundred and sixty-seven.

WHEREAS, doubts have arisen whether under the pre-
sent act of incorporation of Mount Saint Mary's College,
the corporate rights, privileges, powers and exemptions are
transmissible or perpetuated to the successors of the prin-
cipal and vice-principal named in the act to which this is a
supplement — Therefore,

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
all the rights, privileges, powers and exemptions granted
and conferred by the act of eighteen hundred and twenty
nine, chapter one hundred and sixty seven, on the princi-
pal and vice-principal of Mount Saint Mary's College, be,
and the same are hereby granted, continued and confirmed,
to them, and their successors forever; subject nevertheless
to the same control of the General Assembly of Maryland
as is reserved by the seventh section of the said original
act.

An act to repeal part of an act, entitled, an act to make valid
a deed from Grafton Duvall and Elizabeth W. Duvall,
his wife, to Alexander Thomas Hawkins Duvall, passed
at December session eighteen hundred and thirty-one.
|

|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the first, second and third sections of the
act, entitled, an act to make valid a deed from Grafton Du-
vall and Elizabeth W. Duvall his wife, to Alexander Tho-
mas Hawkins Duvall, passed at December session, eighteen
hundred and thirty-one chapter two hundred and forty-
nine, shall be and they are hereby repealed.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the said deed be, and
the same is hereby declared to be as valid and operative,
for all the purposes specified in the same, as if the said
deed had been duly acknowledged by the said Elizabeth
W. Duvall, separate and apart from, and out of the hearing
