LAWS OF MARYLAND.

CHAPTER 73.

Passed Feb. 7,1834

A supplement tc the act entitled, an act to direct the court of
Queen Anne's county to authorise the sale of the real estate
of Mark Benton, deceased.

Preamble

WHEREAS, by the fourth section of the act entitled, an
act to direct the court of Queen Anne's county to authorise
the sale of the real estate of Mark Benton, deceased, pass-
ed at December session, eighteen hundred and thirty-one,
chapter one hundred and fifty-seven, it was provided that
nothing in that act contained should be construed to au-
thorise (he sale of any land belonging to the Protestant
Episcopal Church in Easton; AND WHEREAS the true name
ot the said church is the Methodist Protestant Church;
Therefore,

Error corrected

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That nothing in said act contained shall be construed to
authorise the sale of any land belonging to the Methodist
Protestant Church in Easton, which certain trustees in be-
half of said church formerly purchased from a Mrs. Max-
wells, of Queen Anne's county.

 

CHAPTER 74.

Passed Feb. 6, 1834

A supplement to the act passed at December session, eigh-
teen hundred, and thirty-one, chapter eighty-six, entitled,
an act to authorise the making a general alphabetical in-
dex of the, land records of Baltimore county, from the year
seventeen hundred and ninety nine inclusive, and to keep
up such index henceforth.

Compensation in-
creased

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That for the services required to be performed by the fourth
section of the act to which this is a supplement, the clerk
of Baltimore county court shall be entitled to have and re-
ceive the sum of twenty cents for each of the conveyances
or writings in said section mentioned, in addition to the
amount chargeable for recording such conveyance or writ-
ing, and in place of the compensation of ten cents provid-
ed by said section for said services.
