1833.

Count of the sum demanded, with an affidavit annexed
thereto, that no part of the sum demanded has been re-
ceived by the said Joshua M. Faulkner, or any other per-
soi for his use, to the best of his knowledge and belief.

CHAPTER 68.

CHAP. 69.

A farther additional Supplement to an act entitled, an act
for quieting possessions, enrolling conveyances, and secur-
ing the Estates of purchasers.

Passed Feb.20, 1834

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, Tha
all deeds or instruments of writing, which have been taken
executed and acknowledged, within this state, since the
first day of September last, which may not have been cer-
tified by the takers of the acknowledgments of said deeds
or instruments of writing, as required by the act of Decem-
ber session, eighteen hundred and thirty one, chapter two
hundred and five, be, and the same are hereby confirmed
and made valid, to all intents and purposes; Provided, that
in all other respects the said deeds or instruments of writ-
ing have been executed,acknowledged and recorded in con-
formity with the laws relating to the subject at that time
in force, in this state.

CHAPTER 69.

Deeds confirmed

An act to authorise Andrew McLaughlin to distribute his
estate by lot.

Passed Feb. 18, 1834

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Andrew McLaughlin, of Anne Arundel
county, shall be and he is hereby authorised to make a
public sale or distribution of his real and personal estate in
said county, by lot or chance, provided he shall first pay

to the Treasurer of the Western Shore a tax of five per
centum on the value of said esiate, and by a good anil suffici-
ent deed, grant his said real estate to Philip Laurenson and
Fielding Lucas, in trust, to be conveyed by them, the sur-
vivors or survivor of them, to the person or persons who
shall become entitled thereto, conformably to the distribu-
tion which shall be made thereof by chance or lot, under
