LAWS OF MARYLAND.

CHAP. ,67.

'C. Thompson, Edward Trippe, Levi D. Travers, Joseph
Stewart and Samuel Cook, members and Trustees of the
Methodist Episcopal church, in DoTchester county, on the
Cambridge circuit, and their successors forever, duly ap-
pointed according to law, and the rules and regulations of
said church, be and they are hereby authorised and em-
powered, to purchase, hold, lease, or receive as a donation,
gift or devise, and the same to use, occupy, lease out, sell
or otherwise dispose of, a house and lot or houses and lots
not exceeding two, in said county, and on the circuit afore-
said, to be held in trust for the benefit of said church as
parsonage houses, for the use and accommodation of the
preachers, who may from time to time be stationed or pla-
ced on said circuit. *

Vacancy

Sec. 2. And be it enacted", That all vacancies which may
happen in the Board of Trustees named in this act shall be
filled in the same manner as vacancies in the Boards of
Trustees are now filled in said churches.

Exempt from tax

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That the property intended
to be held under this act, shall be exempt from taxation as
other church property is now by law exempted.

 

CHAPTER 67.

Passed Feb. 19,1834

An act for the benefit of Joshua M. Faulkner, late Sheriff
of Talbot county.


Authorised to col-
lect

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Joshua M. Faulkner, late Sheriff of Tal-
bot county, or his assigns, be and they are hereby authori-
sed to collect until the first day of July, in the year eigh-
teen hundred and thirty five, all fines, forfeitures, amercia-
ments, officer's fees, and public dues, which were placed
in his, the said Sheriffs hands for collection, and which
have not been collected, in the same manner as he could or
might have done within the time limited by law.

Account and affi-
davit

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Joshua M.
Faulkner, or his assigns shall, before he or they proceed to
execute the body or property, of any person or persons by
the authority of this act, deliver or cause to be delivered
to the person or persons chargeable with the same, at least
thirty days previous to serving, or levying execution, an ac-
