RESOLUTIONS.
the hands at the several warehouses, at all leisure periods,
in repacking staid tobacco, and they are hereby authorised
to charge the usual price paid for the performance of such
work, and they are required to account to the Treasurer of
the Western Shore for all moneys collected on account of
such labor.
Resolved, that the Governor and Council be and they
are hereby authorised to contract for the repairing of the
upper floor, of the south end of the state's tobacco ware-
house No. 2, in the city of Baltimore.
Resolved, That the Treasurer of the Western Shore pay,
or cause to be paid, to the order of the Governor, such sum
or sums as may be necessary to effect the aforesaid repairs,
out of any money in the treasury to the credit of the state's
tobacco inspection fund, not otherwise appropriated.

Resolution relative to the act of Congress organizing the
Militia.
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
our Senators in Congress be instructed, and our Represen-
tatives be requested to use their exertions to procure such
amendments of the act of congress organizing the militia,
as shall relieve the people as far as practicable from the
burdens of the system without impairing its efficiency.
Resolved, That his excellency the Governor be requested
to transmit copies of these resolutions and report to our
Senators and Representatives in Congress, and also to the
Governors of the several states, with a request that they
may be laid before the legislatures thereof.
