RESOLUTIONS.

WHEREAS, the present mode of contracting for the sta-
tionary for the use of the Executive and Legislature is at-
tended with great inconvenience and much delay — There-
fore,
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the State Librarian be, and fie is hereby authorised and di-
rected lo purchase annually hereafter the usual and neces-
sary supplies of stationary for the use of the Executive and
Legislative departments of this state, previously to the
meeting of each session of the Legislature, and that the
bills for stationary so purchased by him be annually sub-
mitted to the examination of the joint commitee on the
Library, and on the approval of said committee, the com-
mittee on claims shall pay or cause to be paid to the pev-
soa or persons from whom said purchases shall have been
made, such suns as may appear to be due in the same man-
ner as similar claimants are now paid, and that the com-
mittee on claims allow the Librarian seventy-five dollars for
his services.
Resolved, That resolution number eleven, passed at De-
cember session, eighteen hundred and twenty, directing the
Clerk of the Council to advertise that proposals will be
received for furnishing stationary for the Executive and Le-
gislature, be and the same is hereby repealed.,

Resolution in favor of Mrs. Barbara Mudd.
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Treasurer of the western shore, be, and he is hereby
authorised and required to pay to Mrs. Barbara Mudd, of
the District of Columbia, or to her order during life, in
quarter yearly payments, a sum of money equal to the half
pay of a Sergeant, in consideration of the services render-
ed by her husband, during the revolutionary war.
