CHAP. 24.

collected as other levies are, and made payable to the said
bridge commissioners.

Accounts, &c.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That the said bridge commis-
sioners shall keep a fair and accurate account of their ex-
penditures in erecting said bridge, and in case there shall
be any thing left after the said bridge is finished, they shall
pay the same over to the county commissioners, if the said
county commissioners should consent to the erection of
said bridge, to be by them applied to the use of the coun-
ty; a majority of the said bridge commissioners, shall be
competent to transact any business relative thereto.

CHAPTER 24,

An act to condemn a lot of land, for the repairs of a public
causeway at Cratchens ferry, in Dorchester county.

Commissioners to
locate, &c.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the judges of the levy court of Dorchester
county be and they are hereby authorised and required to
appoint three commissioners, which said commissioners,
or a majority of them shall be authorised and empowered
to survey, locate and condemn a lot of ground at the be-
ginning of the causeway in the north west fork of Dorches-
ter county, not exceeding half an acre, for the use and
benefit of said county, to keep said causeway in order and

repair: Provided, that the said lot of ground, as aforesaid
surveyed, located and condemned, shall not interfere with,
or affect the yards, gardens, orchards or buildings of any
person, without the consent of the owner or owners there-
of.

Plat to be returned

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the said commissioners
shall cause to be made out, a plot of the lot of ground as
aforesaid surveyed, located and condemned, to be lodged
in the clerk's office of Dorchester county, there to remain
in perpetual testimony of the aforesaid survey, location and
condemnation.

Assess and return
damages.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That the said commissioners,
or a majority of them, shall value and assess the damages
sustained by any person or persons, whose land may be af-
fected by the aforesaid survey, location and condemnation,
