Barnes, John Baldwin, Joseph Kreager and Andrew Mar-
tin, as Delegates for the New Market Fire company; Fre-
derick S. Littig, John Henderson, John Glass, Ashael
Hussey of George, John Beacham, David Nicholl and
William Randall, as Delegates for the Columbian Fire
company: Samuel Keerl, John McKean, jr John R. Moore,

Ezekiel Dorsey and Henry R. Lauderman, as Delegates for
the Franklin Hose company; Jesse Hunt, John E. Reese,
Edward Needles, Jacob Balderston, James Gillingham,
Charles W. Evans and Thomas Watson, as Delegates for
the Washington Hose company; J. J. Cohen, jr. Andrew E.
Warner, George H. Tucker, Thomas Shanley, Richard
Lewis, James Arthur and James H. Jones, as Delegates for
the Patapsco Fire company; Samuel McClellan, John Wa-
ters, William P. Pouder, John Ehrman, George Keyser,
Alceeus B. Wolfe and George Sauerwein, as Delegates for
the Howard Fire company: and their successors, chosen
as Delegates annually by the eaid several fire companies,
and the Delegates from every other fire company which
shall be established in the city of Baltimore, and appoint
Delegates to associate with those of the fire companies na-
med in this act, be and they are hereby incorporated and

made a body polilic, by the name, style and title of the
Baltimore United Fire Department, and by that name may
have continued succession, and shall be capable of suing
and being sued, of making, having, using and altering a
common seal, of making contracts without seal, of purcha-
sing, holding, leasing, selling and conveying, lands,tenements,
goods, chattels and estates, real and personal and mixed,
and may receive, hold, and invest in such manner as they
shall deem most safe and productive, contributions, dona-
tions, subscriptions, gilts, devises and bequests, and use and
apply the same, and the income and proceeds of all the
