JAMES THOMAS, ESQUIRE, GOVERNOR.

1833.

Sec. 8. And be it enacted, That this act shall be in full
and perpetual force: Provided, that the work contemplated
to be executed and made by the provisions of this bill shall
be commenced within three years from the passage of this
act, otherwise all right intended to be given and secured
by this act shall be null and void.

CHAP. 187.

Time limited

Sec. 9. And be it enacted, That if at any time the said
road, or any part thereof, shall by omission or neglect of
said company or their agents, not be kept in regular good
order, then and in that case, upon application being made
to a justice of the peace in and for said county, he shall be
authorised to issue his warrant, directed to any constable,
shenff or deputy sheriff, requiring the gates on said road
to be thrown open, free from the collection of toll, and so
remain until the state and order of the road is reinstated to
reasonable and original order.

CHAPTER 187.

An act to Incorporate the, Baltimore United Fire Depart-
ment,

Passed Mar.10,1834

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the association of Delegates chosen by
and representing the several fire companies in the city of
Baltimore, composed of seven Delegates from each of the
said companies, that is to say, Thomas M. Locke, James
Lovegrove, Joseph K Dukehart, Joseph R. Stapleton, John
Needles, Samuel S. Riley and James McEllroy, as Dele-
gates for the Mechanical Fire Company; Jesse B. Wright,
Samuel Stump, jr. Wm. E. Kaine, Philip Muth, jr. Joshua
Harvey, Goddard Raborg and Alexander Smith, as Dele-
gates for the Union Fire Company; Dr. Michael Diffenderf-
fer, Dr. Charles S Davis, John P. Miller, Cbailes Diffen-
derffer, Lewis Holler, George Meyer and Kinsey Fowble,
as Delegates for the Friendship Fire company; William
Cornthwait, Joseph M. Miles, Carvel Conaway, Thomas
Evans, Thomas P. Stran, Robert Craggs and Henry Dun-
dore, as Delegates fol the Deptford Fire company: Charles
M. Keyser, Joel Wright, John Brannan, James A. May,
David Anderson, Samuel Rulon and John Kummer, as Del-
egates for the Liberty Fire company, John Rodgers, Jo-
seph Matthews, Dr John L. Yeates, Hugh Bolton, Joseph
